Maggie Stewart, a classic independent sales rep, has been long at it for almost 30
years. As a manufacturer’s representative Maggie has built her career partnering with
international and domestic companies and forging those relationships with our local
retailers across the state of Virginia and Maryland. Maggie began her sales career with
a large, now 70 year old, Canadian company, GANZ. Working there for a combined
total of 17 years, she rose to #1 rep in the county for multiple years. She then worked
for our own locally based Evergreen Enterprises, also becoming their #1 rep. She has
been heard to say, “Virginia is a very retail rich state”. Loving what she does, she
claims to not work hard, just long, as the world of retail never sleeps.
She started her career as a buyer for local JC Penney stores at Cloverleaf and Regency
Square, and then became their youngest female personnel manager and later store
operations manager. Having graduated from VCU with a degree in Marketing with
emphasis in Retail Management, she decided to use her background to help other
merchants in their businesses and started on the journey to be the sales rep she is
today.
Maggie owns two personal creative businesses. Byegone Blooms, a garden art line,
sold primarily at local art shows including Arts in the Park. And Oh…Shucks, a coastal
based line, sold at wholesale to other retailers and at local art shows. Those that know
her say her mind never stops creating and she anticipates one day working in
retirement in the Outer Banks.

"It's the dream job - where else can one put years of marketing expertise to work while helping neighbors that wrestle with food insecurity? That Kicker's food donation drive was memorable but helping our elderly and homebound neighbors is magical. They receive made from scratch medically tailored meals delivered right to their door with a smile and great care. Feedmore also helps local school markets. Young students can access nutritious food they otherwise go without - that's what gets me up in the morning. And in this case, while wearing a fruit hat and my favorite vest from The Phoenix? The 200+ volunteers that make this compassion come to life across Central Virginia - it's all quite humbling to see that type of kindness in action." - Sara Gravitt-Bease
